THE COMPASSIONATE FRIENDS

                                                                                         OF LOS ANGELES

                                 MONTHLY MEETING
Our monthly meeting is open to all bereaved parents and their families (siblings over 16 and grandparents) regardless of the age of the deceased child or the cause of death.  Our meetings provide emotional support and a safe place for feelings to be expressed.  For some, it is the only place where they are able to comfortably talk about their child and their grief.

Everything discussed at the meetings is confidential.  No one is required to speak.  Just listening to the experiences of others is often helpful in understanding confusing emotions and learning that there is no right or wrong way to make this journey.

Each meeting has a different topic and focus.   We may have a panel speak on a topic, break up into smaller groups (for one example- men and women), have a speaker, or view a short video to spark discussion, etc.  We suggest you try at least three meetings before you decide whether we are "right" for you.  Every meeting is quite different.  If you feel your first meeting didn't meet your needs, please try us again as we are always working to address varied aspects of this process.

There are no fees for membership or the meetings.

We have a free lending library at each meeting.  Our library has books, videos, and other materials and resources that you are welcome to borrow and return at a later meeting.

We have no religious affiliation.
